Kazo Leadership Launches Term One and Praises Strong 2025 PLE Performance

The leadership of Kazo district, led by LCV Chairperson Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda and Chief Administrative Officer Hajji Badru Mayanja today Tuesday convened a meeting of all government primary school head teachers to officially open Term One of the 2026 academic year.

The meeting was held at St. John’s Kazo Old Church and brought together key stakeholders, including political leaders, education officials, technical staff and members of the media.

Addressing the gathering, District Education Officer Mwiine Lamech Mirembe welcomed head teachers back from the holiday and thanked them for their dedication and performance and urged head teachers to prioritize the Education Management Information System (EMIS) and also avoid examination malpractice.

The Chief Administrative Officer for Kazo district, Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala congratulated education staff who were recently promoted and praised head teachers for the district’s strong performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). He emphasized the importance of clear institutional missions and visions, strict accountability and proper management of government property. The CAO further revealed that the district will intensify supervision of schools to sustain and improve overall academic performance.

District Speaker Dan Nahurira Bwamunyoga thanked both the CAO and the LCV Chairperson for championing staff promotions and encouraged head teachers to work diligently to further improve Kazo district’s PLE outcomes. He also applauded the education department for its continued commitment.

In his remarks, LCV Chairperson Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda noted that the district’s improved PLE performance has earned Kazo national recognition. He pledged continued political support to the education sector and urged head teachers to work closely with education stakeholders to advance the district’s development goals.

The meeting officially marked the opening of Term One for government primary schools in Kazo district, setting a clear tone for accountability, collaboration and improved academic performance.
